Handmade rugs are regularly knotted using vegetable dyed wools and silks which tend to have a different level of fastness due their characteristics. Some dyes have a very good tendency of not bleeding out however some wools and silks easily run when in contact with water.
At Carpets Clinic we are able to correct the colour run and restore the rugs to the original colours. Our expertise are able to remove practically any level of colour run as if it had never occurred.
Most Afghan or Persian rugs have a deep red colour surrounded by a white areas which are the most common case of colour run. The red bleeds into the white areas leaving behind a pink colouring. This is a regular occurrence with our customers and they are all satisfied with the results of the correction.
